The WEAVE (Widen European Access to cultural communities Via Europeana) project started in mid-April with the aim to develop a framework to link the tangible and intangible heritage of cultural communities safeguarding the rich and invaluable cultural heritage which they represent.
It will contribute to preserving for future generations the richness of the European identity and its cultural plurality. In particular, the project will aggregate over 5,200 new high-quality records to Europeana.
The project will bring together cultural heritage institutions (CHIs), minority cultural communities and Europeana. Within the project, a set of open and reusable tools which will employ a mix of AI, machine learning, natural language processing, big data analysis and innovative interface engineering will be developed.
Arctur collaborates in the WEAVE project as a partner with rich experiences in cultural heritage digitisation. Arctur team will develop a unique 3D Weave Asset Manager tool and will also supply 50 3D heritage content.
This project is a Europeana Generic Services project, and it is co-financed by the Connecting Europe Facility of the European Union.
